This study examined the causal mutation behind susceptibility in the CI 16151 fast-neutron-derived mutant, m11526 . Genomic deletions in m11526 break resistance to Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei isolate 5874 (AVRa6), even though the Mla6 R-gene is still present in the barley genome. The goal of this study was to map the causal mutation to provide a framework for future fine-mapping.
