Currently, genomic and genetic resources available to understand or combat the damage caused by powdery mildews are lacking and phylogenies are largely unresolved. There is a critical need to expand the scope of research to additional PM pathosystems and describe the molecular and physical mechanisms of plant-microbe interactions that directly and negatively impact U.S. agriculture, particularly the ornamental industry. Therefore, genome sequencing of Erysiphe pulchra was undertaken to develop a draft genome that can be used for host/pathogen studies and for developing molecular markers for population studies.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA413808 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
