Erwinia papayae is a bacterial plant pathogen that causes mushy canker disease on Carica papaya (papaya). Isolated on diseased papaya tissue on Guam, this pathogen has been presumed to cause severe papaya crop loss over the past 40 years. Genomic data will aid in understanding virulence pathways and the development of management strategies.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA1129588 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
