Effects of Disinfection on Piglet Nasal and Gut Microbiomes

dataset
posted on 2024-06-11, 06:39 authored by University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
The effects of disinfection in the maternal delivery environment on the establishment piglet gut and nasal microbiomes were investigated. Although extensive research on maternal programming and its influence on infantmicrobiomes has been conducted in humans, very few similar studies have beenconducted in swine. Piglet gut and nasal microbiomes were profiled at 4 time-points from birth to weaning through 16SrRNA sequencing to investigate the effects of microbial exposures at birth on the seeding and community structure of piglet microbiomes.
