Dataset links to the Digital Collections of Colorado, DSpace Repository. From the homepage, you can search the 1240 datasets hosted there, or browse using a list of filters on the right. DSpace is a digital service that collects, preserves, and distributes digital material.
The Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) Network was created by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 1980 to conduct research on ecological issues that can last decades and span huge geographical areas. For more than three decades, the Network has generated rigorous, site-based scientific research that has led to important findings on regional and continental scales. Each site develops individual research programs in five core areas Pattern and control of primary production; Spatial and temporal distribution of populations selected to represent trophic structure; Pattern and control of organic matter accumulation in surface layers and sediments; Patterns of inorganic inputs and movements of nutrients through soils, groundwater and surface waters; and Patterns and frequency of site disturbances.
Use limitations
Cite this dataset when used as a source. All data are open for dissemination and re-use for any purpose, but you must attribute credit to the owner and cite use appropriately according to the LTER Data Access Policy (http://www.lternet.edu/policies/data-access) The SGS-LTER data collection represents over 30 years of hard work by dedicated scientists and technicians. Please respect the effort that went into the creation of these data sets. Prior to submission of your manuscript, you are also encouraged to send a copy of the report or manuscript to the principal investigator of the data. The SGS-LTER should be adequately cited in any resulting publications. Citation formats for data use are emerging, as an example we provide: Lauenroth, W. K. (1981).
