This data publication contains nest success and measurements of other factors that might affect nest survival of Black-backed Woodpeckers (picoides articus) found in the Black Hills of South Dakota in mountain pine beetle (Dendroctonus ponderosae) infested areas in 2004 and 2005. To obtain data on reproductive rates for Black-backed Woodpeckers in beetle-killed forests in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Original metadata date was 07/19/2010. Minor updates made to the metadata on 7/29/2010 in the entity and attributes section as well as the taxonomy section. Metadata modified again on 3/28/2011 to adjust citation to include the addition of a DOI (digital object identifier). Minor changes made to metadata on 05/08/2013 when this data publication became available through R&D Data Archive. Minor metadata updates on 12/20/2016 and 01/21/2020.
