This dataset is associated with the publication "Impact of Improved Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures on Microbial Populations at Three Tree Fruit Packing Facilities" (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jfp.2024.100436). The goal of this study was to assess the effect of three sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) on microbial populations on non-food-contact surfaces in three tree fruit packing facilities. ASV_16s.csv contains amplicon sequence variants (ASVs) for bacteria and ASV_ITS.csv contains amplicon sequence variants for fungi. Microbiological_data.csv contains the following data for individual samples: sample ID, collection data, facility from which a sample was collected, sanitation treatment applied in a facility, sample collection time (before or after sanitation), study year, sample collection site, log10 CFU/swab of aerobic plate count (APC), log10 CFU/swab of Listeria, log10 CFU/swab of Listeria monocytogenes, and enrichment result (positive or negative).
