Being able to rapidly and accurately identify species is essential for the long-term management of ecosystems. We examined the utility of DNA barcodes to successfully identify tallgrass prairie plant species in the Northern Great Plains of the U.S., an alternative method of identification when morphology based methods are not feasible.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA649768 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
