This is a de novo assembly of the domestic goat (Capra hircus) exclusively using long reads. The assembly was scaffolded using a combination of optical map data, and Hi-C contact alignment graphs. Subsequent scaffolding was confirmed using a Radiation Hybrid map for the goat. This study was a proof of principle that a combination of cutting edge sequencing technologies can be used to efficiently create accurate chromosome-scale scaffolds.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA290100 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
