Mycobacterium vanbaalenii PYR-1. This strain (PYR-1; DSM 7251; NRRL B-24157) is the type strain and was isolated from contaminated sites exposed to petrogenic chemicals in the watershed of Redfish Bay, Texas, in 1986.
