This feeding trial was designed to investigate two separate questions. The first question is, “How do tannins affect blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels in cows receiving protein supplementation while grazing meadow bromegrass?” This is relevant because BUN levels can indicate nitrogen utilization efficiency and overall protein metabolism in grazing cattle. The second question is, “What impact do tannins have on the behavioral activity of cows, specifically in terms of movement and activity levels?” Understanding the behavioral effects of tannins may provide insights into animal welfare and productivity in grazing systems. The goal was to determine whether the addition of tannins influences BUN levels and the activity patterns of cows grazing low-quality forage.

See the ReadMe file for a complete description of the dataset.
