Beef ruminal lactate utilizers

dataset
posted on 2024-06-11, 07:01 authored by South Dakota State University
Previously uncharacterized bacterial species from the rumen of beef cattle were identified as candidate lactate utilizers using an in vitro batch culture approach. 16s rRNA gene sequencing was used to analyze the bacterial composition of the rumen fluid cultures, and metagenomics was used to sequence the metagenomes of select cultures to analyze the genomes of the candidate lactate utilizers.
