These sequences were generated to study the impact of wavyleaf basketgrass (Oplismenus undulatifolius) invasion on soil microbial communities in mid-Atlantic forests. Amplicons of 16S and ITS2 regions were sequenced from replicated samples collected at heavily invaded plots and nearby non-invaded plots across Virginia and Maryland (USA). Plant invasions can reshape indigenous microbial populations, potentially affecting nutrient cycling processes and native plant communities.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA1211650 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
