Comprehensive RNA sequencing was performed on a laboratory colony of B. dorsalis with a focus on attempting to capture as many genes in the sequencing from throughout the entire developmental life history. De novo assembly and analysis of the resulting sequence was focused on identifying full length gene and splice variants, and then annotating through identification of orthologs in Drosophila gene sets. In addition, differential expression analysis catalogued under what life history stages particular genes are over- or under-expressed, creating a high quality reference gene set that can be utilized in the laboratory to perform functional genomic experiments.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA167923 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
