This A. rambellii strain is the sole representative of its species ever sampled in the world. It accumulates and secretes both sterigmatocystin and aflatoxin B1, a rare characteristic for this genus, which are toxic secondary metabolites. In comparison to its close relative, A. ochraceoroseus, this species produces much greater quantities of aflatoxin B1.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA275129 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
