The purpose of this project is to re-sequence, re-assemble, and re-annotate Aspergillus flavus strain NRRL 3357. The new genome assembly will facilitate the development of high-throughput genetic tools for this important fungus, which causes significant crop loss due to aflatoxin contamination and causes aspergillosis in immunocompromised human patients.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA637788 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
