Agricultural soil microbial communities vary with edaphic conditions and management practices across spatial scales. To investigate consistency in bacterial and eukaryotic microbiome composition, we sequenced and analyzed 16S and ITS amplicons from nine potato field sites across the continental US. Several edaphic factors accounted for variance in microbiome structure observed across sites. We identified core communities from both amplicon types and found that the vast majority of these sequences were differentially abundant across field sites.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA992073 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
