Adomaviruses associated with blotchy bass syndrome in largemouth bass

Blotchy bass syndrome has been observed in largemouth bass in the United States since the 1980's. The etiology of the hallmark hypermelanistic lesions (HPMLs) on the external surface of these fish was unknown. Recently an adomavirus has been associated with these clinical signs.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA1115200 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
