Type 4 RSs (RS4) are chemically modified starches not normally found in nature but have become a popular food additive as their addition increases fiber content, as defined by the FDA. To explore the effects of feeding on the microbiome and gene expression, we fed different levels of Versifibe 1490TM, a phosphorylated and cross-linked potato starch, to mice and looked for changes in the cecal microbiota and SCFA production and gene expression in the cecum and colon.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA1019368 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
