The main goal of the project is to understand the genetics and molecular mechanisms of 2,4-D herbicide tolerance in Upland cotton. The genetics of herbicide tolerance and identification of specific genes involved at the molecular level is crucial for development and genetic improvement of herbicide tolerant Upland cotton varieties.
