The influence of diet on the microbial community composition of stable fly larvae was probed using 16S and 18S amplicon analysis. Flies collected from calf bedding and reared on an artificial laboratory substrate were used for this analysis. In addition, the microbial composition of the food substrates colonized by flies were analyzed as well as fly-free substrates to determine the impact on the presence of stable flies on microbial composition of the food substrate.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA341400 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
